About LIMeS

My name is Ramon de Groot. I have a background in (organic) chemistry and always had a strong fascination for computers and automation. This fascination has been a part of me since childhood. After obtaining my MSc in chemistry at Leiden University, I started working as a programmer of scientific applications after which I specialised in lab automation.

After more than 20 years of experience in the lab automation world on both sides, supplier and customer, I have founded LIMeS Lab Support and started working as an independent laboratory informatics consultant. In this role I am acting as a technical intermediate between customer and supplier of laboratory automation (LIMS, LES, ELN and SDMS) to help laboratory informatics projects to become successful.
